2012 “Dare To Dream”: We are so excited to be launching our first ever album. There are seven songs that our students have written and produced with the help of our singing teachers Shane and Daryl. You are in for a treat as we launch it this week on Friday the 25th May starting off with our students in Kildare with an amazing show and you will be the first ever people outside the school to hear all seven of our songs. Saturday 26th and Sunday the 27th we take you to Newbridge in Ryston Club and then Wednesday the 30th to the Moat Theatre Naas. Tickets are available at all classes and on the door each night and also from Top Twenty, Cutloose Salon and the Nook, Station Road, Newbridge. All proceeds go to Make a Wish Foundation Ireland.
In 2011 many students from the school appeared on our screens. Sean Doyle was one of many of our young boys who auditioned for the film Stella Days starring the award winning Martin Sheen, described “as a gem of a film” by the Irish Times from the director of Into the Storm THADDEUS O'SULLIVAN. We are proud to say Sean, age 11, got the part. He played a cheeky young chappy set in Tipperary in the year 1956. He got to go to the opening of the film and had great fun mixing with the stars and walking on the red carpet.
Several of our students from our older group auditioned and got through to appear on RTÉ on a new programme called Sing. It’s a teenager version of the Lyrics board. Sarah Harris, Jodie Moran and Daryl Philips played the game and all got to sing a couple of popular songs each. A lot of our students got to sit in the audience and take part in the show which was a wonderful experience for all of them.
Two of our students auditioned for a programme called Elev8 on RTÉ. Rosie Hayes, age 9, got to the semi finals and Amy Harte, age 11, got through to the finals and went on to come second in this very popular singing competition.
December 2011 two of our students appeared on the Late Late Toy Show. Allie Moran, 10, opened the Show with When She Loved Me out of Toy Story and Ava Eustace, 7, sang I Want A Hippotomas for Christmas.
The previous year on The Late Late Toy Show 2010 Rosie Hayes, age 7, performed Part Of My World from the Little Mermaid.
What an amazing Year for our young Students and The Leah Moran Stage School. Leah is presently in talks again for 2012 with the producers in RTÉ. Watch this space.
Leah Moran’s students have starred in The Olympia Theatre three consecutive years in a row with the ever popular Jeward.
In our own Local Pantomime last year 2011 Daryl Philips and Sarah Harris got lead parts in the production of the Three Musketeers, and several of the students danced in the chorus.
Kyle Dunne got the lead part of Chip in The Newbridge Musical Society’s amazing production of Beauty and the Beast and again several of our students sang and danced in the chorus.
Grease and the Wizard of Oz 2011: We had great fun with these two productions. Not only did the students blow us away with their talents on stage, they also got the opportunity to see what it was like to star in a movie when local young man Tristan Revel filmed parts of Grease which included a beach scene with the every popular Sandy (Amy Harte) and Danny (Kyle Dunne) and later on the scene for the drive through with vintage cars courtesy of Christy Reilly with Sandy (Sarah Harris) and Danny (Daryl Philips). It was a huge success. Alice in Wonderland was our summer camp show 2010 and was a big hit also.
Musical Mayhem 2010: Compare Richie Hayes who we fell in love with and saw earlier this year on our TV screens in the Voice Ireland. Musical Mayhem was a huge production in which we had our younger children performing scenes from Oliver and Bugsy Malone. Our senior group performed Legally Blonde, the very popular musical.
Musical Mayhem also raised €2,490 for a charity close to our hearts, Make a Wish Foundation Ireland, who help sick children and make their dreams come true. We continue to work hard for this worthwhile charity
2009: Just Dance was our very first production. It was a variety of dance and musical medleys and it was from this show that Leah saw the potential in her students and decided to add drama classes to her school.
Leah’s Stage School has gone from strength to strength and is so grateful to all the students and parents for their kind support and dedication to the school.
